What did you expect to learn in this course? Did you learn it?


When I signed up for this course I thought that it would be a lot about women who excelled in sport. I thought that the requirements were going to be to memorize names I would soon forget after the course ended. The course was nothing like that and what I did learn from the course is how sports have an impact on the roles women play in society. I now see a greater importance for sports rather than a recreation pass time.

I used to think that feminism meant lesbian, bra burning, strong, brutish women who hated and wanted nothing to do with men. Feminism has never really been addressed by another class before as a result I only had the view that the media feeds everyone. Now, I think feminists means equality for women and there are different levels of feminism. Feminist just see the need for the freedom women deserve to have the same opportunity as men with men by their side.
